The Franklin Food Pantry gives food to approximately 100 families each month. Nearly 200 families qualify for food assistance. Most of the food comes from the Brazos Valley Food Bank which is associated to Texas and National Programs.
Each church is responsible for distributing the food one Saturday morning every 9 weeks and assists financially and in collecting non perishable food. It needs to be emphasized that most financial support comes from businesses and grants; and that most of the food items come from the Brazos Valley Food Bank and Federal Commodity Programs.
St. Francis helps stock and run the Franklin Food Pantry. Ray and Lisa Matthews have represented us for the past year and they coordinate the Saturday morning assistance of Food Pantry every 9th week. They also represent St. Francis Church on the Board of Directors of the Pantry. Lynn Braswell is also on the Board and performs the computer support.
If you can provide any food or personal items for the people who are not as fortunate as you, please do. There is box in the narthex which is used for food donations. St. Francis' community is also responsible for helping in handing out the food once every 2 months.
If you can help, please contact the Church Office.
Starting on July 18, 2020 the Knights of Columbus represent St. Francis Catholic Church in manning the Food Pantry.
